The growth mindset is the belief that you can develop talents and abilities, through hard work and if you work for it. The opposition of growth mind set is fixed mind set, which is the belief that you can't develop talents and abilities. Basically, what you have is they got the results they wanted, what you have. When teachers started teaching the idea of the growth mindset to their students, they saw that it had a profound effect on student’s motivation, persistence and essentially, they did better in school. This can be clarified in the article called “Recognizing and overcoming the false growth of mindset,” in which the author states, “In the wake of the many exciting research results, educators became increasingly interested in promoting a growth mindset among their students. This was extremely gratifying.” However, as growth mindset began to flourish, Carol Dweck started noticing false growth mindset. She saw teachers praising effort alone, telling students, “you can do anything” and even blaming students mindset.” Dweck and Mackie soon came to the thought that every single one of us has a mixture of both mindsets.
Over the past few years, a person’s different talents have contributed to a person’s mindset. Therefore, contribution has played an important role in the person’s mindset. Although, a person’s mindset contributes to different challenges. It is easy to get in the fixed mindset, but it is not so easy to get out of it either. Children and those others getting in the fixed mindset should receive motivation and praise in the effort they are making even if it’s considered failing. Mindset is very important to adults and children, and this matters because everyone makes mistakes when you’re learning new things as you grow and develop knowledge in your brain. Each person has his/her own mindset they belong to that defines them by the different ways everyone thinks and sees things from different perspectives. The two different types of Mindset have contributed with each other to work in a person’s Mindset.“Things got even more interesting when Dweck brought people into Columbia’s brain-wave lab to study how their brains behaved as they answered difficult questions and received feedback.”
The 3 brains on our artifact represent growth mindset, fixed mindset, and mixture of both mindsets. The third brain, mixture of both mindset means that sometimes we are in growth mindset and sometimes we are in fixed mindset by what we perceive as threats. In order to be in growth mindset we need to observe ourselves and find our triggers. The representation for the growth mindset is the muscles in the inside of the brain that are connecting together and making the brain stronger. The representation for fixed mindset is a lock inside.

About Me

https://355ks.weebly.com/home/about-me

https://355ks.weebly.com/home/about-me#comments

Uncategorized

Hi my name is Kimberly and I'm an 8th grader at Mendez.
